How do I get an accurate quote?

In order to give you the most accurate quote, we will need some information some people are not comfortable giving out (social security number, drivers license number are examples),  and we can still quote you without it, but it may not be accurate, and if you decide you like our quote, the information IS required on the application

Recently, most insurance companies run a credit score (According to a recent survey by Conning & Co., a Hartford, Connecticut based research firm, 92 percent of insurance companies use credit information when underwriting new policies).  If you prefer not to allow the company to run your score we may not be able to help you.

Another report the companies will obtain a C.L.U.E.report (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange).  The report contains consumer claim information provided by the insurance companies. It includes policy information such as name, date of birth, and policy number, claim information such as date of loss, type of loss and amounts paid, and a description of the property covered. For homeowner coverage, the report includes the property address and for auto coverage, it includes specific vehicle information.

The more information we have, the more accurate your quote will be.  Also, the more information we have, the less time you will have to spend filling out an application leaving you more time to fish!!

Why is my insurance so high?

Most auto policy prices are based on drivers and vehicles.  The higher value of the vehicle, the higher the insurance (if you have comprehensive and collision coverage).  Young drivers also play an important part in price.  Tickets and accidents also rise your price.  A speeding ticket can raise your rate quite a bit.

Did you know, most homeowners policies have a  limit on certain items like computers?  Mobile home policies do also.  Be sure and let us know when you ask for a quote that you have items you are concerned about.  Some companies do cover your contents for the full replacement cost, but be sure to ask us!

How do I file a claim?

If you have a claim, call our office.  Most companies have a toll free claim number.  In order to keep your claim moving swiftly, have as much information you can have ready.  Other drivers insurance, names etc... report numbers, if the car is drivable, having 3 estimates ready would help.  If you need to fax them to the company, please bring them in and we will be happy to fax them for you.

Homeowners claims work the same way.  Have as much information possible that you can.
